The food at this restaurant is excellent and well-received. The atmosphere is clean and the wait staff are friendly. The restaurant is decorated with beautiful art frames, making it a very pleasant place to dine.
The restaurant has a stunning view, especially during sunset, but the food is average at best and extremely expensive for the quality. It's like cafeteria food - the rice is overcooked with too much celery, the scallops are overdone, and the vegetables are tough to chew. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
Four of us had a delightful dinner at the Auberge du Centre d'Art restaurant. Despite being a popular spot during the peak tourist season, we were able to enjoy a quieter evening with our reservation. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. I opted for the Fish of the Day, which was Turbot, and it was delicious. It was part of the table d'hote menu, which also included carrot soup as a starter and sugar pie for dessert. My wife enjoyed the seafood linguini, which was also very tasty. The restaurant offers a stunning view of the Saint Lawrence river, with statues in the water adding to the ambiance. The price was reasonable at around $100 per couple in 2019, which included house wine, tip, and tax. Additionally, there is an art gallery and local crafts on display and available for purchase in the adjacent rooms.
Among their selections we chose a fruit-filled crepe, one of their original dishes. Plenty to split between us.
A very disappointing experience especially after you do the long drive to the area. Pretentious menu, feels old and tired, expensive but not worth it. The place is outdated. Service is slow and inattentive .We reserved a window table (since it was possible to do Our request was ignored and we got a table in a hidden corner under the TV. As for the menu, it made us feel and think of an elederly people's home. Small portions, very ordinary tasting steak, surf and turf consisted of tiny Matane shrimps on a skewer (can you imagine? the shrimps starter we ordered was also mushy untasty Matane shrimps ... the salades were very simple and without freshness. Definitely don't recommend this place.
