I have no high standards for Chinese food, I mean, I like panda express! but we decided to try this place as it is close to home and now I can tell them that I will go out of the way to get Chinese from everywhere. both eating and service were terrible. our waitress was not friendly at all and had no answer for us when we asked about the items in the menu. but eat it seriously. it's terrible. I could not even deal with the Jalu eye soup and my sesame chicken swimming in strange sweet tomato sauce to the point that I could not eat half of it because it was slept through and disgusting. And my side of the nuds was completely dry and sticky....read more
Fiasco. I recently moved back and used to use Sampan for takeout. Ate at the restaurant a couple of days ago and food has gone down to mediocre, but what really turned me off was the service. After I complained about waiting for 30 minutes for food, they served my wife, and then me 5 minutes later. Ten minutes later (after another complaint), they finally served my 8-year-old son. Yep, they served the child last and 15 minutes after his mother. When I asked to see the manager, the waiter said she was too busy. Dinner was a fiasco.
Best Chinese in Town. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in SL. Things have changed a little since the head chef left about 1.5-2 years ago, but I still love it. As for me, I love the special offer of adding the wrapped chicken to the meal. They have the best egg-drop soup I've had and all my friends love it too. My wife really likes the wonton soup. As for food, I love the sesame and pon pon chicken, they are staples each time we go. The curry chicken is delicious, general tao's chicken, fuji beef is way good, and their sweet and sour pork is crispy like I think it should be. Great service, they have even started recognizing us coming in through the years. All the servers pitch in to...read more
Mediocre Food. I live right down the street from here and have eaten here probably over 50 times, I have had everything on the menu and while there are some really good items, there are a lot of things on there I wouldn't touch again. The kung pao chicken has no flavor at all. The general tao's chicken is probably the only chicken dish I would touch. Fuji beef, and Hawaiian shrimp are ones I eat a lot. The only good soup is the wonton soup, all the other ones are terrible. There noodle dishes are pretty good, my favorite is the house flat noodle. Wait staff has always been really nice, but there delivery times are pretty slow. There are definitely better Chinese places around.
Not Good!. Was given cold soup and cold fried rice, very rude service, not good at all. I will never go back.
