I tried the mushrooms tacos and calamari tacos, both were tasty! The service was good as well. Everyone in my party seemed to enjoy their food and drinks.
Tried Taqueria 27th bc I was starving upon my arrival to the area. I wasn't really sure what I should go with as my Uber driver said Salt Lake City isn't really known for any specific food. After an hour plus of looking on various websites, I decided to give this place a shot. I placed my order online and noticed an $8.00 delivery charge by the restaurant. Additionally, the driver had to be tipped for his services, so after ordering The House made Turkey Chorizo Taco, Brent Taco, Achiote Marinated Grilled Chicken Taco with Rice Beans, I paid a grand total of $38.00. I will say that the House made Turkey Chorizo Taco was the highlight of the entire meal. I wasn't a fan of the other two tacos. I think Taqueria 27 served up an okay meal. Don't think I would place another order in the future.
Overall, this was pretty good. Our party went on a Saturday night around 6:00. The place was about 2/3 full inside and one table filled outside. We were seated immediately. The experience was good but our waiter didn 't really wait . He seemed in a hurry all night, and would stop for a second at our table but not enough to get our order in. For example, one couple at the table ordered the G.O.D. and my wife and I were planning to get the queso. However, we didn 't get the chance. As soon as he got the order of guac, he bolted from the table, return several minutes later with the quac and ready to take our order. I 'm sure I could have stopped him but, I wasn 't in the mood to make a deal. We just ordered our dinners and left as soo as we could get the checks. The food is good. I 've only been to the downtown location before. The Foothill location was on par speaking of the quality of food. Probably would be five stars if the service was a little less rushed.
I gave them 4 stars SOLELY on the food. I was put off by the entrance. It's hard to even tell there's a restaurant there. The inside was muggy and dark. I wasn't a big fan of the ambiance. My boyfriend and I actually almost left. That was salvaged by the flavor of the food. My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken tacos and I had the special which was the Hawaiian escolar tacos. They were flawless, albeit... EXPENSIVE. The meal was $70 for our tacos, a guac that we shared VERY TINY PORTION a non alcoholic beer and a margarita. Geez. Will I go back? No. But they deserve praise for the food.
This place at the edge of Salt Lake City it's a very hip and trendy taco place, it's more like a fusion of Latin food more than authentic Mexican Taqueria, the place was packed, their taco options are all very original and they were very flavorful, service was a bit slow since I mentioned it was completely full, forgot to take a picture of the tacos but I had the duck tacos and it was very tasty dish, The queso fundido With carne asada was delicious, and so was the very original guacamole they had for the day, they change the flavors every day so you have to ask what the chef came up with on that day
