This is the place for lunch in Salta. Make sure to order your 3-meal lunch. The staff are excellent and speak Spanish and English.
After we read some Rave reviews and the restaurant very close to where we were and opened a little earlier than others, we thought we would get a good meal here. In retrospect, we should have just ordered a simple hamburger or pizza, but I... although what we chose should have been good in consideration of pizzas, hamburgers etc got Rave reviews. One of the dishes we had was the Osso-Bucco. The meat was still solid and cool inside when I had cut it so that it was not even sufficiently heated. The rice that accompanied the bowl was still solid and cool and so sticky. I wanted so much to enjoy it, but we both couldn't eat more than a taste mouthful, the rest we didn't want to eat and let it. The second dish we had was the Noquis Gnocchi with a Puttanesca sauce. Noquis were sticky/pasty and not easy. The sauce was not what I associated with a good tomato sauce, olive, ashamed Puttanesca sauce. It was a brown color, but it was better of the two dishes and we could eat some, but the larger part of this dish was also left behind. I usually don't think I can't eat most meals in a restaurant because I've never found such a bad one. Maybe you stay with pizza and hamburgers.
Our first meal in Salta, were greeted by a nice waitress who spoke slowly for us to understand (almost not Spanish speakers), both ordered the Mexican burger, and it was delicious, home made guacamole and great selection of hot sauces!
Just a few blocks from the main square and on the beautiful cobblestoned road that connects to the monastery of Carmelita with the square, it is a great place to dune. Varied menu and great service from its owner. Be assured that you will enjoy your dinner...at Gastropub.
We had this tabla for two along with a bottle of Malbec and were satisfied. Lots of different things, most very tasteful, and really enough for two. Service and atmosphere friendly, prices OK.
