The food in general was outstanding. Escargot Amazing. Hamburger Amazing. Fries, aioli great. The only thing that was just ok was the mussels entree, it was good but not as notable as the other things we ordered. Oh and don't forget dessert we had the meringue and an apple tart which were both outstanding.
LOVE l'Appart. The food never disappoints, it's always fantastic, and the service is excellent as well. Knowledgeable and friendly staff make such a difference when we have so many choices for good restaurants in the area. On our most recent visit (just the 2 of us), we made our own small plates meal with the charcuterie, cheese plate, a shared salad and the Mussels, with a wine suggested by our server. It was all delicious. Our kids (age 9 and 12) enjoy this restaurant too, and are welcome there.
Wonderful neighborhood spot, Olivier and his staff are unfailingly gracious, the food and wine voices never disappoint. Big bonus for us: L’Appart is dog friendly for dining in their appealing patio.
We were an hour and a half late for our reservation, and our corner table was still waiting for us! There were plenty of people there too. I'd asked for a quieter spot because my Mom can't hear very well and she could hear fine at that table. The food was delicious: the mussels were in a white wine broth that tasted perfect sopped up with bread. My Mom's vegetable tart had a flaky buttery pastry shell. The wait staff was friendly, and a nice amount of time was left between courses. It was a lovely evening and we really enjoyed ourselves.
A good choice if you want French food in San Anselmo, L'Appart is at 636 San Anselmo Ave, San Anselmo. It is French style, menu in French with English description. Most of the usual French dishes are available, and are well-prepared and tasty. Prices are somewhat above average, but not unreasonable. My Le Burger was $17, very nice but not exceptional. Wife's Mussels Marinieres at $17 was good, large mussels very fresh. Dessert Tarte Tatin for $8 was smaller than expected. No parking lot means a search for an space and hopefully short walk. The ambient noise level was too high for comfortable conversation, a result of open seating rather than booths and noise reducing design. The Digestif selections looked interesting and reasonably priced.
