Contribuer aux commentairesAfter shopping, we wanted to have Vietnamese noodle. So we decided to check out Phuong Trang. Finding parking is always a challenge in Convoy Street area, especially on weekends. But this Saturday, there were ample parkings. This restaurant has lots of seating indoor so we got seated without wait and waitstaff brought us hot tea as requested. We ordered three dishes: bun rieu ground shrimp with eggs vermicelli soup in light broth with tomatoes, fried tofu and Vietnamese ham; and calamari salad which has shredded papaya, cucumber, celery, carrots, topped with marinated calamari, crushed peanuts, fresh mint and toasted sesame seeds and lastly, the house special broken rice combo which has shredded pork, steamed egg meatloaf, ground shrimp wrapped in tofu, grilled chicken, slices of tomatoes and cucumber, salad, pickled carrots and radish and broken rice. The hot vermicelli soup was simply delicious comfort food for us. We loved the savory grounded shrimps, eggs and tomato broth. Calamari salad was surprisingly well prepared with fresh ingredients and tender marinated calamari. So good! The grilled chicken and steamed egg meatloaf rice combo was a hit for our group. Waitstaff was attentive and food came out fast. This restaurant offers very authentic Vietnamese cuisine, generous portions, lots of options and budget friendly. We will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu.
On the outside this place looks dull, needs more outside decor for sure. However the place on the inside looks much better ?I had their seafood soup and it was deliciousDefinitely worth going to at least once. Next time I am going to try their beef platter for sure
The place was not that spectacular on the outside in fact I was worried looking from the outside ?. The Staff quickly seated me and brought me water. They were a little quick to ask if I knew what I wanted as I hadn't had time to open the menu but that's OK. I choose my go to Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls, Rare Steak Phõ and Thai Tea. The Spring Rolls came out fast at first I thought they gave me just a Shrimp Spring Roll but after I took a bite found the pork was in the middle. The peanut sauce was good and the Spring Rolls were perfect. Before I finished the first Spring Roll my Phõ and Thai Tea arrived. I added my vegetables and Lime and took a taste. There was so much flavor in the broth. It was so good. A little better then average amount of noodles and protein. The Thai Tea was Great as well. With just the right amount of sweetness. If you are looking for a good Phõ I recommend this Place.
Got take out a couple weeks ago and the food was fine until it got to the shredded pork that came with my dish it tasted like chemicals and even burned my mouth. I spit it out immediately. Best way to describe it would be like eating acetone. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had this issue. Told my sister about it and she told me they went on Mother’s Day and the same thing happened to her but with the plain rice. They had to send it back. I didn’t get a chance to call the restaurant to let them know since I ate the food after closing time. I’m pretty freaked out. I didn’t get sick but something is going on here. I may give them another chance in the future but for now I’ll be staying away.
Had a disappointing experience. I rarely give a bad review but i felt compelled to do so here.I understand they were here busy so waiting to get seated took awhile.Once seated we waited for a few minutes no one came to take our order. We saw a group seated after us get waited on 1st. Figured probably just the section. Our orders are taken, and there goes a half hr wait time where we saw 4 other groups that came after us and ordered after us get their food 1st. The table next to us got seated 10 minutes after we did, but they received 5 different dishes while all we had gotten was our drink. We just got up, left money for the drink and just left.I dont have much else to say without being rude
