Contribuer aux commentairesHere is my unfortunate experience… On a sunny weekend afternoon, feeling thirsty and hungry, I walked into a charming little cantina. I noticed some cozy chairs that seemed perfect for settling down with a book. There was a bartender attending to the only other table, so I smiled and chose a seat at a different table, and then I waited…and waited…and waited. Still maintaining my smile, I eventually made my way to the bar to order a margarita and request a menu (it seemed like he’d only serve people seated in pairs). He prepared my drink and assured me he would bring a menu shortly, so I returned to my table… and waited again. I watched as he went into the kitchen, returned with a plate of food, and began eating while chatting with a coworker. My smile was fading fast as I tried to get someone's attention, but to no avail. Frustrated, I decided to go into the restaurant, grabbed a menu, and returned to my table once more… only to be ignored yet again. They would glance my way, but then would go back to their conversation. Was there something wrong with me? Did I not merit their attention, or were they just uncomfortable with a single woman enjoying a margarita in the afternoon? In the end, I never discovered whether their food was any good. After waiting for 45 minutes, I left some cash on the table and walked out. Oh, and the margarita was terrible!
