Great experience with incredible food. Mohammed and his staff were nothing but accommodating and fun. Restraint is in the back and unassuming. However, when you walk into the Saha located in the Carlton hotel, that you are in for a treat. Ethnic decor which my wife and I love. Having traveled ourselves to Nepal we appreciate the eastern influence. The Mediterranean menu is delightful. Lots of great options for meat eaters and vegetarians. Mohammad’s food is exquisite! One of the more delicious meals we have had in some time. Don’t forget the pear pastry for desert to close out your experience. Make sure not to miss out on this SF hidden gem.
Went here for my birthday dinner last night. Chef Mohamed was the best host. He offered a tasting of 6 different white wines on his menu just so we could choose the one that we liked. We ordered the octopus salad which was not only amazingly delicious but presented gorgeously. Next came the mushroom knaffe. Beautiful and so delicate. Finally we had the cauliflower cuties scallops. No makes the best scallops ever. They are cooked just right on the outside with so much tenderness and love. This guy loves what he does, he loves food and his Arabic cuisine is so modern and beautiful. Ended with two desserts, one suggested by the chef and not on our radar, the pear tart. We were ready for chocolate vegan mousse and although the mousse was good, the pear tart was the dish that rounded out the dishes we had. Mo knew. What an unforgettable meal and birthday.
I forgot how much I loved middle eastern food until I came to this place while I was here for an interview. I ordered the yemeni breakfast, which was incredible. Coffee was excellent as well, and so was the wheat pita they served with it. Definitely recommend. I will for sure come back to this place if I'm in the area! Also- fast and courteous, friendly service. I asked to get the check as I was on a time crunch, and there were no problems. My food came out just in time despite all the people that had just been seated.
Coming from Maine to San Francisco to settle my daughter into school at AAU, I booked us to stay at the Hotel Calton for the proximity to her dorm. Upon our arrival late evening, we had our first meal there at the hotel and had opportunity to get to know the chef Mohamed. He is the difference maker here with a warm calm welcoming personality and innovative talent evidenced by the intriguing Middle Eastern/Yemmin influenced menu and our very yummy small plate orders. We had breakfast there two times as well and have to say the omelettes were original and really satisfying. Overall, given our experiences at other eating establishments, Saja was the most reasonably priced for the quality (taste, serving sizes, satiation). Highly recommend the atmosphere is also very intimate, relaxing overall soul soothing.
