The owner was very friendly, and it's rare to find a bakery on the street that accepts cards instead of just cash. I would definitely consider coming back to try more if I'm in the area. I recommend giving it a shot at least!
Amazing assortment of Chinese sweets and breads. Everything comes in a sealable bag which is great because it keeps it fresh. So many good things to choose from and it is hard to choose just a few things. Prices are exceptional if you are willing to drive outside of Downtown Chinatown. I would give this place ten stars if I could!
Astonishingly flaky, warm and buttery. My goodness, I'm amazed there isn't a line out the door like at Ariscault.
AMAZING!!! Delicious, delicious, delicious! Most of their mooncakes are 100% plant-based <3 (vegan). Made with natural sugars from dates and lotus, they are so nourishing and perfect for the Mid-Autumn Festival. I absolutely love them, and my brother enjoyed them as a gift for the holiday. I feel so fortunate to have this bakery near my apartment <3
Sheng Kee boasts an impressive variety of options. In the relatively small shop, you'll find several shelves filled with Asian-style breads, buns, and pastries, along with cookies, mini cakes, and sweet beverages. Behind the service counter, there are also some more delicate cakes and desserts. I've only sampled a few items so far, and they were quite good. The breads are excellent, and the prices are reasonable. However, I must mention that the service can be a bit cold and even somewhat rude at times. Additionally, they only accept credit cards for purchases over $10.
