La Fuente De Los Mariscos - San Jose

Chose this based on location as we were staying at the Best Western Plus, and it's a 2-minute walk away, and we were so happy to find it! Lovely service and delicious fish cassado and fajitas, with a couple of icy imperials made for a fantastic last supper in Costa Rica. Next to a grocery store which was great for food souvenirs! Would definitely eat here again if staying in the area.

We ate here at the recommendation of a hotel staff at Best Western Irazu down the street. We have a little bit of Spanish and our waiter had a little bit of English. I have a lot of food restrictions so I needed to ask a lot of questions to be sure my food would be safe for me. Between the waiter's English and our Spanish, we got it figured out. My husband had calamari and I had a seafood grill. Both dishes were absolutely fabulous. I loved every bite of my seafood grill. It was so much fun to try to figure out what type of seafood I was eating with each bite. My husband said it was possibly the best calamari he's ever had. We felt the prices were more than fair. Our waiter was very attentive. We were there a little early for dinner and I think there was only one other table occupied at the time. I would go back and recommend it to anyone.

We had a party of 6 that ate here on a weekday evening. It was a short walk from the condo we stayed in during the week. The restaurant is located in a strip mall along a main road. The restaurant was clean with a covered open air atmosphere. Seating is at tables and there is a large screen tv. Our server was very good and the food/drinks came out in a timely manner. If you know a little Spanish, that would help in the communication process, but our waiter did know a little English. Everyone at our table liked the dishes they had, which included an avocado appetizer, vegetarian fajitas, and a shrimp dish that my wife and I had. The main road can be noisy with trucks going by at times but would definitely eat here again if in the area.

Had a Gallegas' Octopus with sliced potatoes, Octopus ceviche. Service was top quality and prices were up to the level.

We took Cavice, was OK. Shrimp was great. Rice with grilled fish was great. Smoozes very good. Overall we were happy
