Sidecar - San Luis Obispo

Our cocktails were unique and the menu was exciting. The atmosphere of the upstairs vs. downstairs is very drastic. Feels. like two different places. Downstairs is dark mood lighting, feels more casual and maybe good for music? Upstairs has a buzzing, classier, semi-hipster vibe. We only ordered drinks so I can't comment on the food. Glad we went, it's a good place to wait for a dinner reservation.

The service was outstanding—very attentive and friendly. The drink I ordered was absolutely delicious.

The cocktails were phenomenal! We also wanted to steal the menu but they whisked it away before we could. Try to get a seat on the patio by the creek, the sound of the frogs is kind of magical.

Nice drinks down in the basement. Two rooms make nice with more action near the bar and quieter room to talk.

This is a fantastic place to get inspired; their cocktail menu is a booklet filled with playful names for each specialty drink! It’s like a mini VOGUE cocktail list complete with photos. It took me 20 minutes to decide on a drink because I really enjoyed reading the background stories behind each recipe! I’ve found Sidecar to be a vibrant alternative to your typical bar. Plus, they mentioned that every Saturday evening at 8 PM, Sidecar comes alive downstairs! They play EDM music and there’s no cover charge—how cool is that? As for vegetarian options, they offer olives and nuts.
