Contribuer aux commentairesFor some reason, there are a lot of Japanese restaurants in downtown San Mateo, and Kyoto stands out with its decent sushi and ample seating, accommodating even larger groups right away. I often opt for a bento box, which allows you to choose two items from options like sashimi, chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, chicken katsu, and more. I personally go for the sashimi (which includes six pieces of salmon, tuna, and hamachi) along with the salmon teriyaki. The bento box also includes miso soup, rice, and salad. Additionally, they offer a solid selection of Korean dishes; my coworkers particularly enjoy the bibimbap. If you order any Korean entree, you'll receive a few plates of kimchee on the side. The staff at Kyoto is always very friendly, though during busy times, it may take a little longer to get all the dishes for a larger group.
