Just ok .Tourist trap .Many good restaurants near by . It might be the oldest restaurant in San Sebastian but food ,service , overall quality not worth the detour.
I had read very mixed reviews on trip advisor but decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt considering the Michelin guide recommendation it had received for many years. There is a reason why it hasn’t received a recommendation since 2021. The food was really bad. The prawn, ham and bean starter was over cooked and unbalanced (picture a half kilo of beans alongside 3 prawns), the carpaccio was drowned in olive oil, the patatas were also undercooked and swimming in oil and the cheesecake was curdled with pockets of egg yolk. To top it all off the service was below expectations. And welcome to your bill of €200. I would recommend leaving this one aside.
Amazing set menu, brilliant service and really interesting introduction to Basque cuisine. Cannot fault the great lunch we had. We were lucky enough to find it and get a table without a reservation, but it was very busy by 2:00. They made our family feel incredibly welcome and my children say it will be a meal they never forget.
No buscaba algo tan tradicional y me pareció espectacular.
