El Jardin - Santa Cruz

The food here is incredible, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is so much fun. This is definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Santa Cruz.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The staff and atmosphere were both amazing. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. I would highly recommend this place.

Came at a busy time and waited a while at the hostess station only to have employees look at me but not acknowledge my waiting there. Would be nice if they just said something like “were really busy but someone will be there to seat you” after 15 minutes standing there and others waiting behind me commented upon it too. Once I was seated, the staff was friendly in the dining area and it was nice to be able to sit near a real fire in the fireplace: I ordered and it came out quickly but the food was really not very good at all. Tacos chicos were soggy and cold and the meat tasted very weird. As well as the chicken. Taquitos were very oily and small portions with so much lettuce! Chips and salsa tasted like soap for some reason. I really wanted to like this place, it’s in a great location and very nice interior and manager seems eager to please the guests except when I needed to get the check and leave… Wish their food was cooked authentically and had quality amount of meats also wish the other staff members at the entrance near the bar cared enough to acknowledge us while standing and waiting to be seated for dinner.

It's a feel good place and the family loves the food and staff

I enjoy receiving a delicious side salad instead of rice and beans for the lunch special. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious.
