Contribuer aux commentairesVery good restaurant where the hospitality is of the greatest importance. the thunfischsteak was just perfect and I don't say that quickly. the interieur has a somewhat old-fashioned feeling, but with all the plants that give him everything. if we're ever back on madeira, we'll come back in definitiw!
What a great sound. Apart from a really good menu, eating is excellent. the staff is over the top so they feel welcome and take up their needs. we eat here for four lunches and four dinners, because it was so good and nothing else has touched it! a beautiful location on the tip of a cliff, with a view of the sea, with the sounds of it crashes against the rocks. it is peaceful and quiet. we come back! Many thanks to all the employees mostly fabrizio, who was just wonderful, funny and efficient.
We stayed in the hotel and due to the rain we did not want to go the 15 minutes to santa cruz. although it was very quiet (because of the season and kovid they managed a wonderful meal including fresh fish. the waiter was. friendly and professional. we had the Madeira sabbard fish in banana and it was great. the lamb was also very good with many sweets (sometimes you don't often come in hotel meals . there was a reasonable wine list to fair trips, including a decent red wine from maderan. there are inside and outside seats and everything is extremely covided conscious. parking is available at the entrance of the hotel. I have no hesitation to recommend hibiscus restaurant. (I suggest you write, also in the next season.
We recently stayed at the Albatroz Hotel and ate here 2 of our 3 nights. The Scabbard fish prepared Madeira style (with banana) or flambe (with mushrooms, onions, and mushrooms) were outstanding. We have since spent 7 more days on Madeira and have eaten at...multiple restaurants. None have been as good as Hibiscus, including some of the TA top rated restaurants in Funchal. Staff were very friendly. Meals are relaxed and can be eaten outside overlooking the ocean
This restaurant is in the Hotel Albatroz and not far from Santa Cruz and the airport. The meat is superb veal or beef fillet of the highest quality. Octopus carapaccio is wonderful. See if they have the hot passion fruit souffle which is light...and fluffy.
