Even complimentary chips were fresh, light and crispy, served with flavorful salsa that was not very spicy. Portions seem to be a tad smaller now, but just right for lunch. And if you join their rewards program, you'll be treated to a free entree for your birthday. They also have pretty good happy hours, taco Tuesdays and $8 entrees on Sundays.
Went there for lunch during the heat wave in Cali, outdoors was scorching hot even with ceiling fans blasting. So had to seat inside, where was tiny bit more comfortable. Place needs a good paint job from floor to ceiling and decor is so dated. Food was as you will expected from a Chevy's, Big quantity, but not lots of quality. Carnitas plate was soaking in grease, had to put a folded napkin under the plate to shove grease/fat to the bottom. Fajitas were just ok. Service nice but not going the extra mile, as we waited too long to get our drinks on that 115 degrees weather. Thank you Chevy's for being open, as we came from the Russian River brewery that sent us our way since they didn't open the kitchen due to the heat.
I don't think I've ever seen a Chevy's so barren. We got there and were seated pretty quickly in the very back corner of the restaurant. Came with a friend and my son on Saturday. My son got the smallest and saddest kids meal I've ever seen. Tiny TINY burgers on what could only be Hawaiian Bread rolls with like 8 tater tots. His Shirley temple didn't come with a cherry which was weird enough. I ordered the nachos. To which my server asked which ones?... I only saw one nacho dish on the menu so I was confused but maybe I just missed another one? My friend got a burrito dish that came with all the side fixins. My nachos were good but the presence of iceberg lettuce threw me off. They layered them pretty well and they were pretty tasty. We finished our meals and I decided I wanted the Pineapple upside down cake. A different person came by with the check and asked if we were ready, I mentioned that we were but just waiting on our cake. Then there was confusion on whether or not they even had any??? We got our cake, paid, and left. I don't know why but the whole place just felt weird. Not to mention how hot it was even with the fans on. It was cooler outside.
The reason from the 5 ?? review is because of EFRAN! I?ve come here with my kids for the weekend brunch bottomless mimosas for the last 4 weeks. Efran has been our server every weekend. This weekend he was solo in the whole upper section and he killed it, as always. The service when he is here has always been top notch. He remembers that my daughter wants extra cherries ? with her Shirley Temple every time, we don?t even have to ask. The extra topping on todays service was that the manager was even out here helping the servers because they are short staffed. We?ll be back next weekend and will continue to come as long as the service today is as stellar as it has been the last few times we?ve been here. THANK YOU EFRAN!!
First off the food was delicious! The reason for the four stars is the service. Initially it took 20-30 mins for someone to just brings us chips let alone take our drinks or just come by for that matter. Once our waiter did come, she was fabulous and courteous. I do want to say that there was one employee who was just fantastic with his customer service. He wasn?t our waiter but I still went to tip him for coming by and checking on us. It meant a lot. (Had to be there to understand) The food was so great that I?ll return over and over. The chicken flautas with the jalapeño jelly and pineapple was so good I can eat it all day every day. The appetizer with the chicken nacho wasn?t all that. Over enjoyed it and will return. They accommodated us nicely as one of our crew members was in a wheelchair. Oh and the chips and salsa was so flavorful.
