A Bit Pricey for Lunch: I had the special: an $18 snapper plate that was outstanding. My husband had the $15 Fred's Hamburger and he told me that the Kobe patty was dry lacked flavor. My sister in law ordered a $15 Ruben a $6 soup. Maybe I am super cheap, but seems like an overpriced lunch. Again, maybe I am a cheapo, but I did not order any wine because it started at $8.50 continued to go up; so I uncharacteristically ordered beer. When my check came, I found that they had charged me $4 per Shiner Bock beer when the menu clearly stated $3 per beer. I pointed this out it was corrected. Because we were a party of 6, we were charged 20% tip. I always tip, but I usually tip 15% that's to a waitress that checks to make sure I am not overcharged as I was on the beer. Pretty place though, somewhat elegant in a Texas Chic way.
My wife and I, along with several other members of our graduating class met at The Garden Co Market Café and was very impressed with the food, the level of service, and ambience. If ever in the area again, we WILL dine here! I had the pork chop with vegies and I couldn't believe the size of the chop. It was huge and the spices were out of this world. My wife ordered the Fred burger and was similarly impressed. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.
