The restaurant was very attentive in assisting me with my reservation through email and accommodating my dietary restrictions of no meat and eggs. The waiter was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. I ordered two sandwiches, cucumber mint and berries and cream, which were disappointingly small with minimal filling and lacking a second slice of bread. The clotted cream was bland and frothy, with an incorrect consistency. The soup was better in comparison. As a tea enthusiast, I found the Assam tea to be lacking in robustness.
My mother, my son, and I went to this restaurant for tea and lunch. The atmosphere was very pretty, warm, and welcoming, with helpful and knowledgeable service. It is also great for larger groups. The scones were delicious, served with clotted cream and preserves. They had a nice variety of desserts and finger sandwiches. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be returning. The staff were very accommodating.
The service here is great. I think this cottage is on my top places to tea.The scones are big. The sandwiches are delicious.I have a hard time getting in touch with an event coordinator. I had emailed a few times and called. Finally I just made a reservation for a much smaller party than I'd wanted to. The ambiance is nice as long as the traffic is quiet, but can't stop people from honking their horns outside the fence. The patio is just so cute.
Although we were not invited to the coronation in England, we wanted to celebrate in some fashion on behalf of the King. This restaurant serves a High Tea and brunch similar to English restaurants and was packed on coronation day. The weather today was the warmest day of the past week and dining would be perfect outside or inside. The food was perfectly presented, with a large selection of teas as part of the experience. I have always enjoyed finger sandwiches, so I was happy there was a nice selection provided. I did pass on the dessert though, as I was full from all the tea, soup, salad and sandwiches. If I was to dine with women friends, this would be my choice so everyone has a good time. For most of my guy friends, this would not be their cup of tea...
