Also appreciated that the music in the background was not too loud. The staff were all friendly and the drink was great and the seafood chowder was the best!! Come between 8 to 9 p if you just want to wind down and enjoy a couple of drinks with your friends over a conversation cause this place gets packed between 5ish to 7ish, and it can be super loud. And table may be hard to get without a long wait.
Our meal was excellent and the server was informative and timely with her service. We will definitely recommend this retsaurant to our friends!
Was there on the busy 4th of July holiday. Service was excellent and staff was very accommodating as we have come to expect. Glad to see that service levels were maintained on such a busy day. :
We went for brunch. The server/host was very nice. There were 7 of us, and we each got a different dish so we could share. All the seafood on each of the dishes were done nicely. I got the biscuit and seafood gravy, which was pretty good. The biscuit was nice and tender while the sauce was rich, but not sickening rich with perfectly cooked fresh clams. The gravy was a bit saltier than I preferred, but my niece loved it. She had the French toast, and I have to say that her dish was my favorite. It was a nice thick cut of bread. The outside had a slight caramelization going on and it was topped with sweeten whipped cream which was nicely balanced with fresh strawberries. It was almost like having bread pudding. If you arrive a little bit before open, you'll have plenty of public parking. You also have the option of parking in their paid lot.Parking: There is a paid parking lot in front of the building, which the restaurant shares with other establishments. Along the outer edge of the paid parking lot is paid angled street parking. FREE on Sundays and holidays.
We've eaten at White Swan Public House many times, both for dinner as well as lunch at their takeout window 100 lb Clam. The food has always been good, but our recent dinner fell short. We had the heirloom tomato salad, the halibut sandwich with side salad, and the fish and chips. The heirloom tomato salad had tasteless hard tomatoes (why bother having it on the menu if they aren't in season? The only taste was the balsamic vinegar dressing. The halibut portion was smaller than the bun, but the flavor was fine. The side salad was over salted and barely edible. The fried fish was dark brown and very dry. Slathering on the tartar sauce couldn't save it. At least the fries were good. We may try it one more time to see if our experience was a one off. The view and outside ambiance are great, hopefully the food will return to the original standards.
