Have paid several visits to the King's Arms usually for a supper and to enjoy a thriving Pub Quiz which is delivered by Landlord Ben with great humour. The food is really very good the homemade Pies are excellent as are the Mounfield Sausages made locally in Bubwith by Award winning Butchers A. Mounfield Sons. When so many Pubs are closing, it's great to see a Pub become the centre of the Community thanks to very hard work by Ben and Emma.
This was a slightly disappointing experience, we have eaten here a couple of times and would like to support the new Landlords who always give a warm welcome.. Unfortunately today the service was very slow, the food was hot, all 'plated up ', roast pork a little dry), one small yorkshire pudding each, plenty of veg and a couple of roast potatoes, the apple sauce was sadly straight out of a tin or jar. I would have preferred the vegetables on the side. The chocolate brownie and ice cream for dessert was delicious just gooey enough without being too soild. We eat Sunday lunch out quite regularly and were rather disappointed with our experience today
Called in for lunch to check if suitable for our large greyhound, to sample the food and check if it was accessible for someone with mobility difficulties. Lots of ticks in lots of boxes! Ben was so welcoming and helpful, the food we had was very good (try the sausage and mustard baguette cheeseboard and autumn crumble: all super), the service extremely good and there is lots of room for Fraser hound. The entrance access is good, with sturdy seats and space between tables for manoeuvring for those using sticks. There is a lovely restaurant and an attractive beer garden (pouring down when we were there sadly) and good dog walking nearby, including the village pond. The Kings Arms serves Sunday lunches and we will definitely trying those too. We're really pleased to have discovered Ben and Emma's cosy and welcoming venue and intend returning this week, with Fraser the greyhound. The Kings Arms is going to be added to our list of local hostelries, and we recommend that you give it a try too.
We don't live in the village but happily travel so we can be a part of the family Ben Emma are creating, recommend to all wether it's for drinks of food work or social it's a real up and coming pub also try the dead mans finger rum we're hooked on it Lovely to sit inside and soak up the fun atmosphere or chill out in the lovely sunny beer garden over looking the village green and lake Carry on the good work guys you're doing a super duper job
