My favorite outing of the year!! From people watching to eating beer cheese soup in a bread bowl to drinking ****** Mary's or mead to dressing up. This place has it all. The shows will have you belly laughing, the food while a bit spendy at times is always consistently good, the drinks are cold and refreshing, and the workers there are guaranteed to make you smile. Can't wait to come back for the turkey legs!
What a great place for people watching and/or embracing your inner child! There were some amazing costumes and a lot of fun characters. I loved the permanent set up, and even the dusty ground. It gave a more authentic feel than many of the temporary designs I've seen. The actors really embrace the roles are highly interactive. I believe it could be a good time for both kids adults. There's a lot of nickle diming on the inside, but parking is free. Pack your patience, as it's crowded not everything moves quickly.
I had a great time this year. Logged almost 10 miles of walking on my smartwatch. I got to talk to a couple of the Jaycees running the drink tent which is always amazing. I saw Puke and Snot while relaxing in some shade and chowing on kettle corn. Took a walk down a backwood fairy trail and saw some merpeople. Threw some axes with my best friend. It was an amazing adventure. The only thing I would like to see are some public places to fill a water bottle and maybe a little more trash pickup during the day. I always love to see the glass makers and knife smiths working their craft. I will be back again!
Lines, waiting, lines, and more waiting. I'm going to assume the traffic and crowd that was present on 9/18 is not like a regular day at the fest. Cons: Bring cash. Many vendors don't accept credit cards. I learned the hard way by waiting in a long food line then getting to the front to learn that it was cash only. This was interesting to me during a time of Covid-19. The ATMs were not fully functioning also creating a long time WAITING. Some attire of patrons were not very family friendly. Pros: A variety of entertainment, numerous vendors, free parking, and activities for children.
