The food was amazing! We had lamb chops, angus stew and one apple strudel with vanilla sauce. Everything was delicios, fresh and perfectly cook. This is definetly a place to visit when you are in Sibiu.
The restaurant is located in a historic baroque style building, which was the rehearsal and concert hall of the Sibiu Philharmonic. The restaurant menu is full of Saxon dishes, interpreted modernly, being the only restaurant in Sibiu that promotes products from its own production. This...is the current building on Philharmonic no. 2, dates from 1878. Built on a basement from the 15th century. 18 with vaulted spaces the location was used for music auditions. Until this building appeared, 20 detached members of the Sibiu Music Society founded in 1838 rehearsed weekly in the hall rented from it. At the end of 1879, the Musical Reunion had 41 members. They are thinking of becoming a society and on September 2, 1880 they founded the Hermania Men 's Choir. Since 1887, the musical rehearsals have moved to the 2nd Philharmonic. Over time, the Women 's Choir also appears, and the two musical societies will play together in various halls of Sibiu (eg the Emperor of the Roman Inn the current Hotel). In 1934, the Sibiu Music Society and the Hermania Choir decided to merge under the name Hermania Music Society Musikverein Hermania . In 1939, HERMANY had 220 rehearsal members and 440 supporting members. The musical Hermania was active on Philharmonic 2 for 62 years, between 1887 1949. On January 1, 1949, the Sibiu State Philharmonic was founded a professional institution for performances and concerts, which had its headquarters here until 2004 when it moved to the Thalia Hall.
