We were treated so well the staff were an absolute delight couldn't do enough for you. A credit to the owners. The room was small but cosy and quaint loved it. The bed was very comfortable we slept very well. The food was excellent. The breakfasts were varied and very tasty. Large portions of scrambled eggs which I couldn't eat but were lovely. We dined here too and the food was wonderful. Full of flavour and well presented. Definitely recommend The Kings Arms in Hawkshead for staying and dining. Can;t say enough about this place a little gem in a beautiful little village.
We had one meal here during our stay in Hawkshead. We were looking forward to returning here having enjoyed meals here in previous years. Food was ok but sadly not as good as we have had before, meat in steak pie was rather tough. We ate in the bar as restaurant was full but seating in bar is rather cramped and not conducive to enjoying a meal. Will we try again next time we visit, I am not sure!
A very disappointing experience. Staff friendly and helpful, drinks OK but food below par. On next visit will use another pub
I dined at this restaurant one evening during my stay in Hawkshead. The food was typical pub fare, but I was not particularly impressed. The atmosphere felt a bit dirty and could use a thorough cleaning inside.
As restrictions were still in placed when we stayed in a Hawkshead lodge, we were only able to either eat outside the pub or tqke-away; we opted for take-away. Meals ordered were Belly Port with mash, jus, veg.......excellent meal. Pesto pasta with peppers, garlic bread....................again excellent. Lovely young lady served us, very pleasant. Another evening when it was drizzling we sat outside for drinks, only a few tables occupied, the tables were cleared by a chap who we think was the manager...............not a word was said, no greeting, no pleasantries. Could do better.
