The service was excellent, with all of our meals arriving simultaneously and of top quality. Our glasses were always filled and our waitress, Deborah (apologies if I misspelled her name), was attentive and took great care of us. We were all impressed with the delicious antipasto platter, calamari, and caprese salad. Thank you, Mr. Bond, for a wonderful experience! I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning for some more duck ragout.
This Melbourne café serves the best coffee I've had in the city. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. I enjoyed it so much that I returned the next day for my morning coffee fix.
During our holiday in Melbourne, we decided to have brunch at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. Located just off the main road in Chapel Street, the breakfast was delicious and the coffee was excellent. Highly recommended.
I agree with the previous reviewers. Very Italian. Lovely staff and great casual ambience and lighting for a courtyard dining experience. Excellent antipasto and pastas. Will be back. There's a nice long table for larger groups (or you can book half of the table). It's the same menu as 38 Chairs (I believe owned by the same people)
We went to Mr Bond because we love the food of 38 Chairs, but we had a table of 9 and needed more space than the little place next door. I loved the food. Starting with three plates of antipasti to share before moving onto mains. The atmosphere is informal, eating in the courtyard felt very much at home. The staff were fantastic and competent, taking orders from such a big table and giving advice when asked, welcoming, warm and friendly.Drinks are good. Generous glasses of Italian beer on tap. Cocktails they managed well for those that wanted them and a good wine list, not large but covering all the varietals. We drank by the glass to accommodate our varying tastes and so I was able to taste and can report that they were all good.Price is very fair. Our bill worked out to $55/head including drinks and tip.
