I visited the Southfield location after finding a special deal on Groupon. As a vegan, I have high standards when it comes to food. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Ethiopians have vegan options every Wednesday and Friday, as well as during their holidays. This restaurant offers delicious vegan dishes, including a dessert with plantains, vegan caramel, and vanilla soy ice cream upon request. I highly recommend the vegetarian sampler plate, which is actually vegan and includes six tasty vegetable dishes. The bread provided for dipping is protein-packed, flat, and soft, with a low-carb, wheat-like texture. The sampler plate is generous enough for two people, and we were completely satisfied. There are also meat options available for non-vegan friends. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the service was quick, and the wine selection was good. I enjoyed the South African Cabernet and my wife loved the Turkish-style coffee. Make sure to save room for the delicious vegan dessert. Overall, I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but unfortunately, I can only give a maximum of 4 stars since it is not labeled as vegetarian. In my opinion, this place should be considered vegetarian.
Large traditional Ethiopian cuisine. Clearly labeled vegan options and we also appreciate the vegan desserts. everything was delicious. the tee was really good.
The owner of the load was our server and was very excited when I mentioned I was vegan, and very helpful to show what was vegan and what was not. eating is very good, felt very authentic with a great atmosphere even had some appetizers and desserts vegan
I've lived here for a long time and they've always been enjoyable. if I remember correctly, the owner is vegan.
