Diocletian's Wine House - Split

We first found this beautiful restaurant/wine house, while the streets wander trying to avoid the cruise ship crowds. How happy we were. We sat on the Roman terrace and enjoyed a lunch of the Dalmatian Platter, which was light and very pleasant. Cheese, meat, carpaccio of octopus, olives, tuna cake and fresh bread. The waiter was efficient and friendly and we enjoyed it because it was not overrun with tourists that I know we are, but it was nice to be something quiet, beautiful and quiet. We have made reservations to have Croatian Peka, and I am so glad that we have done it. We were cordially greeted upon arrival and when we asked for advice about the wine, dinner came with knowledge and understanding. We chose a beautiful red and it was indeed good. I had the Veal and my husband the Oktopus Peka. It was a delicious, cozy dinner. The Veal melts in my mouth. If I am happy enough to return to Split, I would definitely visit again

Really beautiful and rustic location with indoor and outdoor seats (Hinterhof). My husband and I have reserved the wine tasting tour before our arrival. We are both vegetarians so they doubled the cheese samples to replace the meat. Sommelier gave us interesting history and stories about the 3 wines we tasted and the service was great. The wine itself was delicious, with solid and medium-sized wines paired with the right cheeses. Would definitely recommend this for first painters and more experienced wine lovers.

Undoubtedly the best food and service we have seen in Split. Also get some valuable advice on local attractions untouched by tourists

I was looking for a good breakfast and found it here. You have these great breakfast set menus for a very good price. Coffee, juice, smoothie and your head. Healthy start option is great.

Only not giving this place 5 stars because I felt my service could have been far better. My waiter didn't really show much interest in us and wasn't very helpful at recommending food wine or telling us anything about what we were eating or drinking. Other than that the food was delicious. Great atmosphere and amazing wine. Highly recommend if you want to try local wines and foods.
