Blue Bird - Stafford

We stopped at this restaurant on our way to Louisville and it was definitely worth it. The staff was friendly and the food was some of the best we've had.

We visited this charming little restaurant on a Saturday night and were warmly welcomed by the hostess. Our waitress promptly took our drink order and we received it without any delays. We decided to order two burgers with Tater-Tarts and I must say, the burger was delicious. However, we never received any service from our waitress, Riley. It seemed like she was overwhelmed and we had to go up to the counter to ask for our own drinks. We waited for 20 minutes for our bill and eventually had to speak to the manager. The manager quickly responded and our server brought the bill swiftly, albeit in an unfriendly manner. She did not utter a word to us, not even a simple excuse or thank you. The food was great, but good service is definitely a must in a restaurant.

I had the best fried green tomatoes and the Gouda-Mac cheese was outstanding! We also splurged on the peach cobbler to share which was not overly sweet and had a melt-in-your-mouth quality. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day trip in this stunning historic city!

It took a afternoon to stanford to watch the bluebird. they enjoy the maisbrot and pig bark beakers. hubby had the fish and chips and was very happy. not fat and very flakey. I had the pork chop with grits and inherited medley. also very good. we would be happy to go back. not crazy about brotpudding, but this is probably more a personal taste. I had no cold brotpudding before. my experience has always been warm. next time I'll get the cake.

This was always the best place in town for breakfast. Came here this morning and the breakfast menu has been reduced to bare minimum and there are no kids offerings. I mean do you expect me to pay 10.95 for one pancake for a child? So until it changes, if you would like to overpay for a 2 egg breakfast, this is your spot. Miss the versatility of this place. This will sadly probably be our last time here.
