Oohh damn, wife and I about to go into a food coma. So delicious we can't stop eating. We really recommend it. (I should of taken a pic with full dishes)
I decided to give this restaurant a try as I am a fan of Peruvian cuisine and options are limited here on Staten Island. I opted for the $25 family meal, which includes a generous portion of rice, beans, choice of maduros, tostones, yuca dish, a whole chicken, and I added an avocado salad. Overall, my family enjoyed everything except for the beans. They were kidney beans that were extremely hard, almost as if they were not cooked at all. Additionally, the bean gravy was watery. This was disappointing as the beans were a crucial part of the meal, leaving us feeling like something was missing without them alongside the rice.
I was a little worried when I walked in and it was empty... it's Thursday... the floors and tables a little sticky but not because they're dirty... it's a strange finish... anyway. We had half chicken and rice and beans, a steak platter and chicken soup...OMG it was FLAVORFUL, PERFECTLY SEASONED AND COOKED TO PERFECTION. Sorry, was I yelling? It was soooooo good. My whole family was so happy I insisted we try it out! I can't wait to go back and try other platters they have. Oh and the prices... beyond reasonable.
I happened to be in Staten Island and looked up reviews and decided to go. I was not disappointed, they have great rotisserie chicken and have all your traditional Peruvian style dishes. I ate the rotisserie chicken and arroz chaufa and was not disappointed. If your in the area check this place out!
