The owner is very kind and even, on a very busy day, took the time to answer all my questions. The scone I bought was delicious. As were the macarons. The buttercream icing is to die for. Cannot wait to try the cheesecake I bought for tomorrow!Such a nice little shop.
We were warmly welcomed by the owner and her staff! We got the almond joy bar which was incredible! Then purchased a gluten free cinnamon coffee cake- which was not only delicious but moist too! Go check them out, it’s worth it!
Located in the center of Historic Strasburg and tucked in the back. I walked out of my vehicle, and my mouth was already watering. Open the door to this little bakery of heaven. We arrived to pick up a cake, smash cake, and cupcakes for my daughter's first birthday, but the temptation was so real I couldn't resist. We also got a cookie, sourdough cinnamon rolls, and a gluten-free cupcake for the Mrs. Some of you may know that finding gluten-free treats like this can be a struggle, so we were happy to see gluten-free as an option. As for eating the snacks that I purchased, we didn't even make out of the parking lot before I had consumed my first cookie. We got home and tried the rest. Everything tasted as good as it smelled, like someone actually took the time to make these items from scratch. Not par-baked junk that others buy or the generic store bought stuff. It reminded me of home as a child. I highly recommend that you check this little bakery out!
I didn’t want to make this post but unfortunately I must share, I reached out to strasburg bakery bc it was highly rated and I want to support small local businesses. The owner and I discussed over the phone the pics I sent and how I wanted the cake to have fondant characters and icing on the cake, we also discussed flavoring and that we didn’t want anything thick and heavy. She stated how her buttercream was not like what most are used to and rave about it. I communicated that if this was not a cake she’s comfortable doing and that it’s out of her level of design it’s ok, I just want to have open communication but she stated that it’s totally fine! I sent 3 pics for reference and one in particular that I wanted the cake to resemble. When we arrived to pick the cake up she was very inviting and super friendly, the cake appeared peach/orange and not pink but I was attributing that to the lightening in the shop. The line work on the icing was very rushed and messy, the character on top of the cake was so messy, the characters on the side of the cake were icing and not fondant like the pics sent and discussed, the cake was dense and thick and almost wet. Needless to say although she’s extremely kind, the cake was a flop and really disappointed me for my daughters birthday. To pay $61 for a cake that looked nothing like the pic and ultimately was thrown away was disheartening. I should’ve spoke up when I first saw the cake but I was hoping once we got it out of the box it looked better, but I was wrong.
