Everyone was very friendly and our waitress was prompt. By the way, their martinis are deliciously strong compared to what you might expect.
Top notch service and food. Our server was amazing she was extremely friendly and professional, I could sense that she genuinely cared about our presence as she regularly checked on us to ensure we're satisfied.
Bang Bang shrimps as appetizer was delicious, wish shrimps were a bit bigger. Crusted Trout was yummy- menu states that is served with vegetables however there was only green beans and small quantity of mashed potatoes. Signature pasta was OK. On average each dish costs $20, there was nothing special about the pasta texture and taste. Server was friendly and polite. I was bit surprised to see many open tables on Saturday evening. Overall it was an OK experience.
Just needed to get out, so we ended up here. The staff was super friendly, helpful, engaging, etc. The place looked good clean. You should try their Coral Reef Punch, pretty tasty. The food left something to be desired. My wife had the Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer, which she said was good. Her entree was Fish Chips. It could have been better if it wasn 't so greasy. The fish was placed directly on top of the fries, which shouldn 't be an issues if the fish were fried in fresh greasy so the batter hardens. She said she could tell that the grease it was fried in needed to be changed because she could taste it. I had the Corn Crab Chowder as an appetizer. It was tasty, but it would have been better served hot or even poured at the table. I don 't think it was because it took so long to get to me, because it didn 't. I think it 's because it was served in a very shallow fancy bowl. So the trip from kitchen to table cooled it a lot. My entree was the creole pasta with salmon. The fish was very good, as expected. The pasta however, not so much. Whoever came up with the dish obviously has not been nor researched Creole cuisine. My wife was born raised in Louisiana and I 've spent a lot of time there. This was not Creole. It might fool most here in NoVa, but not a Louisiana native or a foody. Do your homework guys. For dessert my wife had a warm cookie, which she enjoyed. I had the molten carrot cake. It too was good. This wasn 't a bad night, just a bit of fine tuning and it can be 10 times better.
Honestly we only ate here because Sweetwater had too long of a wait. The atmosphere and service were great. The place was clean and not too crowded. But the only food that was good was the bang bang shrimp. Hubby did like his crab and corn soup but said it arrived luke warm. The fish and chips I ordered arrived with just two strips of cod and small portion of fries. The paper under the fish was full of grease and so was the fish. The fries were also soaked bc they put the greasy fish right on top of the fries. I picked at the fish as much as I could and ate a few fries that were edible.Hubby didn't care for his pasta since nothing about it said creole except the tomato color. The drinks were good though. But I won't be back unless I just need a cocktail and bang bang shrimp.
