This place is a regular go to for small celebrations the chicken is pretty darn good but the variety of shared hot pots are out of this world, prices are a little higher than other food options in the area but it is worth every cent. it can be crowded at times so id recommend getting there earlier to make sure you snag a table
Re-visited this Korean eatery for Sunday lunch last week. Business was as busy as usual.<br/ We ordered a fish cake hot pot, spicy noodle and a cold noodle. There were plenty ingredients in the hot noodles and it tasted good. Cold noodle was not as impressed as the raw beef cold noodle that I had in the city recently but it served good enough feeling for a hot Sunday. Fish cake was average without surprising.<br/ Overall, it was a decent dining experience. <br/ Rating 3.5/5<br/ <br/ Previous visit: Mar 23, 2018 Rating 4/5<br/
My partner and I decided to have lunch at 88 Topokki in Pinelands Plaza after walking past the restaurant for years. Their is an abundant amount of Korean fusion style food on the menu that all looks fabulous. We shared hot plates of bulgogi beef and marinated spicy pork and a plate of gyoza. The food was delicious and so filling and definitely value for money. The waitress was very helpful and food came out very quickly.
It's a small restaurant, but they deliver big on flavours. For a group of four, we ordered the (Spicy) Beef Rib Hot Pot, Korean Style Crispy Chicken and Topokki with Cheese. The Hot Pot itself wasn't too spicy nor heavy the beef was mostly tender, the soup packs a kick but is cleansing and there's enough veggies and noodles to go around. Their chicken tastes similar to KFC, but is so much better. Unlike most of the fried chicken spots i've tried, you get a mix of drumsticks and boneless chicken that are a good sizes and the coating is super light and even more crispy. The topokki is a classic it's soft and chewy just as you would want it, and it's even better alongside the fish cakes and cheese. We didn't end up finishing it all because it was so much food, but leftovers are always great!
