Contribuer aux commentairesBought a groupon - $7 for a burger (usual value $14) I tried the southern fried chicken burger.
Gave this a try. Chicken burger had two pieces of small chicken so naturally fell apartCheese was cold from fridge and not melted on as you'd expect.
Not bad. Came here on a voucher and am glad to pay full price next time i happen to be near chifley plaza. Grabbed the never too early burger and it was a beaut. Cooked fresh to order and was so big! Take away skim cap was also part of the voucher.Grabbed the ice cream for and it was pancake flavour that day (flavours rotate). It was okay, a bit icy.Service was very friendly and attentive.
Pretty good service but chicken is a bit dry like it's batter is just made of flour and then deep fried. Burger was pretty good though. Not a ling wait either for the food which is always a bonus for me. Good for snack food and quick eats.
Celebrity chefs cook fast food is almost a norm in Sydney now, Neil Perry did it, Warren Turnbull did it, and now it's Luke Mangan. Admittedly I didn't have the main menu but chicken tenders as a snack, so maybe I should give it the benefit of doubt and try it again? The low score is purely based on the chicken tenders which looks extremely sad and tastes extremely dry. I was almost in disbelief that a chef in his calibre, Mr. Mangan would endorse food like this - the meat completely lacked moist, the batter was soggy, it looked so sad that it should be in the bin, not on my lunch plate. This place may deserve a second chance and hopefully it will change my opinion. (sorry was too taken back by the poor quality of the chicken, I didn't get to take photos. And yes they did end up in the bin) thernbdiary.com
