When I arrived, I was informed that my booking had been cancelled due to being a no show. After some protesting, a table was eventually found for me. I ordered the lunch special (salmon) which was good, along with rice and miso soup. However, the vegetables were too chunky and uninspiring. The serving dishes for both me and my guest were chipped and cracked, which was unexpected for a restaurant of this caliber. When it came time to pay the bill, I had to wait in line with people buying takeout for several minutes as there was only one cashier for both services.
We tried several tapas dishes, which were generously portioned, reasonably priced, and delicious. We also noticed the hotpot menu, which looked fantastic. We definitely plan to try it next time. The service was excellent.
Great Japanese food! Sea food were fresher than me. The only point is i did not like the oysters because they have added soya sauce inside! No need to sauce it! It is so close with the other resto; we had been intending to go to the other one but missed. Be careful!
This place is great for a quiet dinner in the Sydney CBD. Seafood was fresh and service was good. Better than the branch down in Chinatown that was crowded and noisier.
This restaurant used to be my favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney, but on a return visit for lunch after a year much has changed for the worse. The salmon wings in the set-menu bento lunches were cold, the wagyu beef overcooked and chewy, the marinated cucumber in the salad too salty, Only the miso soup and green tea were hot. Service was very good as in the past, but the Restaurant recently started charging a percentage fee on the bill if settled by credit or debit card.
