My partner and I went to this restaurant for lunch with two other couples and we all loved our meals. We sat outside on the veranda, which was ideal for the sunny weather. The focaccias were heavenly, light with delicious fillings, and the cheese kranski with sauerkraut was also outstanding! The service was excellent and very friendly as well.
While visiting an attraction in Avenel, we stumbled upon this charming cafe while driving around. Located next to the butcher shop on Bank Street, the cafe has a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The owner, a friendly and lovely lady, made our experience even more enjoyable. We sat outside in the shade and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. It was a delightful discovery that we would definitely return to if we find ourselves in the area again.
Tucked away behind the butcher shop in Bank Street, Linden Tree Cafe is a hidden gem. Cafe is quietly and simply run down a pretty garden path, the staff are friendly, meals are prompt and well priced, and very tasty. A wide variety including vegetarian pasta's etc. All great, and an award winning barista. Lovely coffee - even when its a decaf! Thoroughly recommend for a quiet and peaceful lunch inside or out in a floral and well appointed garden. Lovely!
On our family holiday we stopped at Avenel in central Victoria, just if the Hume Highway for a simple lunch. This little place is tucked away behind a butcher's storefront in the main thoroughfare of the town and is superb. The café is inside a home and is very cosy and homely because of that. The lady looking after us was lovely and the food a mix of simple but very well cooked fare for reasonable prices. My son and I had pulled beef with coleslaw on rolls, with the meat being tender, moist and flavoursome, and the slaw subtle. My wife had a cheese kransky with sauerkraut which again was subtle of flavour and not too vinegary. Our daughter had a ham and tomato toasty, classic Aussie fare. A lovely place and highly recommended. We will stop again.
