We found this place in Tacoma, and it is my favorite of the places we have been over the last two years. First, the box is great. It is a strong cardboard box like box with a pop-up top. Perfect! The donuts are all delicious, the crumbs on the cake donuts is tender and perfect amount of moist. The glazes are not excessively sweet compliment of the donut part. I really enjoyed the orange drizzle donut and the chocolate cake with the vanilla glaze, powder sugar and cinnamon. In any case, the trip to the Donut shop is worth it.
I'm a donut-fit, so this place was like heaven for me. Very clean and bright, occupied by smiling faces. Donuts leave nothing to be desired. The creamy variety is not my favorite, but I tried one on the recommendation of the woman behind the counter. I wasn't disappointed. The cream filled maple could be my new favorite over the maple bar. If you have a sweet tooth or a love for fried dough, this place is not a brain.
Oh, man, I love this place! And I am very pleased that they have opened this new location in downtown Tacoma. I'm going home from Donuts as long as I remember. I'm not really a donut person, but House of Donuts is not a joke. If you ask me, House of Donuts makes some of the best donuts in the Puget Sound range, and I would like to do their donuts against other donut shops. The selection is always top notch. While they always wear the regular flavors, they do a good job and also introduce new seasonal donuts. I usually do a point of House of Donuts at least twice a month more and as they have opened the location here in the city center, I can look by while waiting for my bus. This is a mixed blessing for my waist, but I'm still happy. Update: This Donuts house changed its hours! They close now at 4:00, which means that I can't stop on my way home anymore. I'm sure it was a business decision, but that means that I can only visit once or twice a month instead of a few times a week as I work outside the city and not return until later. ANNEX Sad day.
Best pumpkin donut I ever had. Fiancé said the same about her (giant maple bar. The staff was even friendly and chatting at 6:00. A little expensive for donuts, but honestly, you can taste the difference. Definitely back.
The best donuts I've ever had! We made a pit stop on our way home after reading other reviews. It took us a while to decide but the lady working behind the counter was friendly and very patient lol. Thankyou! We had half a dozen in total. Omg. I've never had donuts so perfectly cooked. I've had a lot of donuts in my lifetime and this was the best I've had. My favorite was the apple fritter. My second was their version of red velvet. We shared more and all was consistently good. Not super sweet like others and super fluffy on the inside. I'll definitely make this my go to place when I'm in Tacoma!
