I suggest trying the Asian Pork Belly Salad and the Deconstructed Salted Caramel Cheesecake, as they are delicious. I have taken both family and friends to Drift at various times of the day and week, and the service and flavors have always been consistently excellent, which is a major plus.
We had lunch at Drift. Reasonably extensive menu with breakfast served until late. Service was very good and the food OK without being exceptional.
We wanted a good breakfast and got way more than we expected. We were served by Rebecca who took our order as we asked for it - really crispy bacon, eggs well done and the largest coffee on the menu. We would have been happy if one of the requests were right but the whole order was EXACTLY as we asked. The food was tasty and well presented, the coffee was creamy and the muffin was mouth watering. Without feeling nagged, Rebecca and Michael followed up if we were happy with the food and there was a feeling they had pride in the place they work at. Our plates weren't taken away till we had both finished - I didn't feel rushed to finish. We drove more than 50 minutes to get there and will be making the trip back. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT MORNING.
My wife and I decided to try out trip advisor number one rated cafe on tamborine mountain. As always was keen to read through past members experiences and thought I too would give it a go.Set overlooking the park, has an inside eating area and a large deck with a bar- would be great for an afternoon beverage Staff were really friendly and meals were quite prompt, were lucky not too many visitors early morning.Drift serves Merlo coffee which was awesome and for our meals, I am a sucker for big breakfast (drift meat feast) and my wife loves eggs benny. Happy with breakfast was very tasty and reasonably priced
If at first you don't succeed, you try and try again! And this is exactly what we have done with the Drift Cafe... we have tried three times yet each time we have left disappointed! Our most recent visit was marred by the ineptitude of the new 'front of house' staff / management.I'll spare you the details suffice to say the manager resorted to some long winded (BS) story as to why our overlooked lunch reservation was anybody else's fault but his. This was followed up by an embarrassing few minutes while he moved patrons so as to be able to give us a table. Then having to wait an hour for our food (simple burgers) to arrive and without even so much as an apology - galling! The final straw came as the table was being cleared, with however all the usual actions reserved for the kitchen scullery being performed right in our faces... and I mean literally 'in our faces'.Food scrapped off plates, cutlery sorted, crockery stacked and finally all taken away in one ginormous towering pile??? I'm not asking for fine dining or silver service... just don't do your dirty work right here on my 'place setting'.Ever since DeliVino was replaced by Drift a few years ago... there has been something amiss and successive changes to ownership seem to have made little difference.Perhaps the clue is in the name... 'all a drift', 'run by drifters', 'just drifting along'.
