Each order comes with two tacos and a side of delicious breakfast potatoes. I highly recommend adding a side of green chili sauce to drizzle over everything for extra flavor. The coffee was excellent, and they brew their iced tea, so you won’t find any of that unpleasant stuff from the soda gun here. It's a wonderful option for breakfast or lunch, and they serve both all day long!
While exploring downtown Taos in search of a quick meal, I noticed a bustling crowd at Bent Street Cafe, which suggested that the food might be worth trying. I was absolutely correct! The menu was relaxed and simple, but the food was delicious. We opted for sandwiches, which is always a fun choice. My husband went for the Berry Turkey, topped with house-made cranberry sauce and cream cheese, while I chose the Pita the Greek, filled with hummus, cucumber, tomato, feta, and olives. Both sandwiches were generously portioned, bursting with flavor, especially the Greek one. In fact, we loved it so much that we recreated it at home, and it turned out amazing! The service was fast and friendly, making our experience even better. We were very glad we decided to eat here—definitely a great lunch spot!
Eventually, we were called to our table. Our drinks arrived fairly quickly, but then we were left waiting for our waiter. And waiting... To make a long story short, it took 55 minutes from the time we were seated to actually receive our meal! We did order an appetizer, which was served quickly but finished long before our main courses arrived. Two tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. As for the food itself, the guacamole was excellent, and my California Club was good too. My wife's breakfast croissant was just okay. Despite having four waitstaff on duty and the restaurant operating at a low capacity due to Covid, I can’t imagine how long the wait would have been if the place were full.
The hostess dropped her head into her hand, sighed and said she needed to have some tables cleared. No eye contact at all. Then she seated the party of four that was in line behind my boyfriend and me. Disappointing. However, we got a great meal elsewhere with spot on service, which wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been snubbed here. Our money went to a classier establishment.
This place was super cute with a great view of cute area. We sat outside which was fun. We both ordered salads. I got a $6 house salad but was rather disappointed. One poor slice of tomato and two slices of cucumber? Hmm I feel like this could be improved. Possibly chop them up? Adding a little cheese or croutons could help take this to the next. Or potentially lower the price to $3. They also didn't have to-go boxes and only had bags that lacked a way to seal them. I'm not sure if it's this way or not but it was strange to say the least.
