In the end it was also accompanied by Tacacho. Service was attentive and...good (Michel). (The A.C. was switched on about halfway through our esswhee! The kitchen is visible through a glass partition, it was fun to see our food (and others were prepared and presented. Very recommended: a walk through the Mercado Central to hear, smell and see all kinds of commercial activities as well as Vittles consumed or route. Several tourists, many locals. Yum! E.R.
I stayed for two days in Tingo María and I had such a great experience eating here at lunch the first day, that as a group we decided to go have dinner and then lunch the next day. Regional food is simply amazing, some of...the best I've tried in the Peruvian jungle.
We have visited this restaurant in November 2016 as it was suggested as one of the best restaurants of Tingo Maria. The food was good but not extraordinary, just fairly good jungle food, my fish was a bit too oily and they served us separately,...I was half way through my plate when when they served my friend. besides this unfortunately there was an annoying beeping sounds as their AC was broken, this has ruined the experience.
This restaurant has the best of local cuisine and offers huge portions to satisfy both gourmets and gourmets. We have eaten three times here and the popular 'mojadito de la selva', which is basically rice with sausage, cecina, platanos and yuca, plus the other speculators....The portions are huge, with a focus on patacons, rice, tacha and cecina. The local juices are also worth trying, especially Cocona. Very popular, there is a block from the central plaza.
I really enjoyed my time there! It was a nice place to eat with the family. The food was delicious! You need to order Tacacho con Cecina or Trío Amazónico (It is for two people).
