Sitting on the terrace in summer with this magical view of the Fuschl lake is really wonderful. But unfortunately the quality of food is terrible!! We had lunch and ordered something else. Summer: Desaster!. Not only the main courses, even dessert, and coffee. Hopefully they will find someone who will soon start with a completely new staff. At the moment we will never come back and this is really very sad because of the wonderful situation
Maybe we were lucky, but we thought the whole food was delicious. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed all our meals. After dinner we sat under blankets and enjoyed the fresh air. Our service was impeccable and so friendly.
We had lunch for 4 people in the hotel restaurant. It was a little hard to find parking because the Christmas market was set up. This is a high-end restaurant even for lunch. I didn't want a big meal so they made me a smaller part of the carving. The other guests had pasta and fish. The meals were great, but the service was somewhat slow, although there were not many other diners. Good place to have an upscale lunch.
The staff were very pretentious which made our dining experience uncomfortable. The food was very good. The wine steward, who seemed very new to the position, started by recommending a 515 euro bottle, then dropped down to a 325 euro bottle. When my husband asked...him what was the best value on the wine list, the steward recommended a 125 euro Austrian wine! My husband ended up choosing a French wine we knew that was very good and only 55 euro. Beverage prices weren't outrageous just for wine bottled water was 9 euro (and this in a country that prides itself on having the best tap water in Europe). Our waiter was very pompous although he got a little more relaxed as the evening went on. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
