The dishes were ok but service was slow and tortilla soup was salty, the roasted chicken pieces in the soup was chewy. It's also a bakery but no desert offered at dinner if they sold out during the day. That was a big mistake.
What an amazing place! One of the best chocolate chip cookies and iced matcha lattes I've ever had. I also got a chance to talk to one of the bakers there and they shared that they use water from France to create the most authentic pastries, particularly the croissants. I will definitely be back. Get the chocolate chip cookies now! It's also just a beautiful place to be.
We love Common Bond, generally. But last night there was no post-dinner coffee available and no desserts....supposedly because the adjacent bakery closed at 6. Am pretty sure that in the 10+ times we've dined here, prior to the symphony at Jones Hall, coffee and desserts were available. Just a bit disappointing. Our cocktails were excellent!
Energetic bar scene, high ceiling, bare floor makes the Brasserie part of Common Bond pretty loud. All food selections for our party of four received kudos, especially the spicy chicken sandwich. Sadly, that sandwich arrived at the table well after all other meals were served. Service, overall, was pretty spotty.
We've been here for dinner several times over the last couple of years, mostly going before concerts or plays nearby. In the beginning, the quality of the food was high. On this last visit there had been a noticeable decline in both the food and the service. Hopefully they can get back on track. Until then, if I go back, I'll probably stick to a sandwich.
