Every mobile detail company could look like new as in British movies. Then replace the grass at the front with brick or pebbles and park the taxi in a simple view; what?s so hard about it. No British flags or bobbies or palace guards. The crown and anchor could use some simple upgrades to be more attractive.
Late Sunday dinner, great place, friendly...massive dishes and so delicious. So full, probably don't have to eat again until Tuesday!
I wanted a English breakfast or as close as I could find that LA offers and after some Googling I decided that Crown and Anchor was my best shot since they offer an all day Brittish Breakfast as part of their regular menu. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the banger was tasty, the back bacon and beans were tasty and had a grilled tomato. There was a toast as well. My mom is a big fan of sausage rolls so I gave that a try too and was very impressed with them. Great, flaky crust and sausage. They have a nice, outdoor patio under a big tree. Overall a great place to have breakfast foods for a tasty lunch.
As one with an English heritage, I've had an enjoyable experience dining at several locations in and near San Fernando Valley. To discover the Crown Anchor was to finally be satisfied with the fact that a favourite dish: toad in the hole, was available on the menu. It's been years since tasting good Yorkshire pudding with bangers in a hot onion gravy sauce, and the results were most satisfying, taking me back to the U.K., among other fine English fare that my two companions thoroughly enjoyed, as well. Good form to include the English breakfast available all day, with the obligatory beans on toast, among other simple fare, while the bangers mash always appealed well for its simplistic, but very satisfying results. Our servers were gracious and prompt about the service provided, and thorough in maintaining safety and health regulations per pandemic circumstances, but the establishment offered plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoors, with proper safety guidelines followed by everyone. The interior itself is a beauty unto the British scene with wonderful seating arranged in half-circled booths of vinyl-like upholstery that provide space for 4-5 persons, with a quieter, large chamber, and the pub to another room with plenty of sports monitors for those who enjoyed a noisier social scene, and an open expanse outside, with a tented arrangement for when crowds become too large. All in all, the Crown Anchor has done well to provide a pleasant experience in food, decor, and general service. I wish it the best of success and prosperity, with thanks to the staff who provided for us, and satisfaction for everyone who dines at this beautiful British establishment. Thank you.
My favorite fish and chips in Thousand Oaks are here at Crown and Anchor. I always order the king fish and chips where I get two large pieces of fish with cups and peas?. In the evening they are known for live music and trivia.
