The Landing Grille - Topeka

I found the service to be very slow for a weekday night, despite there not being many people in the restaurant. My party consisted of only three people. Unfortunately, my chicken fried steak was severely overcooked, with a brown crisp all around the outside edges. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm and lacked flavor, while the corn tasted as if it had just been dumped onto my plate from a service container without being heated up. The server was not very friendly, especially considering she works in the waitstaff industry and would presumably want and expect a tip (she received one only because I was with others). Given the prices, I had higher expectations. It will take a lot for me to consider returning to this restaurant.

Glad to see improved service from my first visit about a year ago.

Met a friend for lunch. Anxious to return for an entertainment event.

I don’t understand how this place is so bad compared to Vikings. And I’ve heard a lot others say that as well. Even with the same owners

The staff were polite and efficient. The food is consistently delicious.
