Il Buongusto is further from Via Po than you’d think from its address, but have faith and you’ll find it down on the right. Inside there’s a shop where they prepare take-aways, and behind that a small restaurant, full of locals when we called in one Sunday lunchtime. We ate at high stools in the shop, and while the food was prepared we selected biscuits and preserves to take home. This is a very local experience and specialises in Piemontese cooking. Lots of lamb sauce for various pasta dishes and mountain cheese with the salad. Quite different to the more tourist-oriented places not far away. Simple and enjoyable food, with enough English spoken to get a real understanding of what it is.
