After I made reservations and needed to put my credit card in to do that....what?! I thought, wow, this is like the inner sanctum of restaurants. THEN they called me to make sure that we were going to honour our reservations. In the email from the reservation platform, there were some pretty strict edicts: Please note: We are not accepting cash payments at this time. We have a 1.5 hour seating limit. We will hold your reservation for 10minutes after your reservation time Free cancellation before Friday, Apr 15 at 3:00pm. After that, cancelling this reservation may trigger a fee of CA$25.00 per guest. So now I'm thinking ...wow, this is going to be sooooo special! I was a bit nervous, but hoped it was going to be everything I was gearing up for! On the reservation, we pre ordered the fried chicken dinner for 4. I was gasping, I was so intent on this feast! And then....it was good. But not what it was hyped up as in my brain. The service was really excellent and the waitress was a bit confused by the 1.5 hour time allotment. I liked the place a lot, and it was very reasonable as far as the price goes. I would like to go back and have a more chill experience perhaps with some ramen and pork buns.
We were a group in for a business meeting and we made reservation for 12. The menu was planned ahead by our executive assistant . Everything we tasted was very good. The beef melted in your mouth. I would recommend that restaurant to anyone who wants a very different experience.
Just for info : Tom is a friend of our daughter and he was working at Momofuku at the time we visited Toronto. He invited us to have dinner and he and his colleagues prepared us delicious food. Oh boy, did we enjoy that dinner ! From the starters, over the main plates to the desserts and the wine, we loved it all. Delicious !
The drinks at this restaurant are incredible, with a nice aroma and elegant presentation. The service was excellent, though it was a bit slow for us. Perhaps next time we will make sure to come with more time to fully enjoy the experience.
The menu at this restaurant is intriguing, although a bit limited in options. All dishes are meant to be shared family-style. Our main courses took longer than expected to arrive, but the rare rib eye was absolutely fantastic and delicious.
