If there's better soul food out there, it must be at your grandma's house. Every single thing we ate fried chicken, fried fish, beef tips rice, greens, candied yams was simply as good as each dish gets. For real. Well seasoned, cooked perfectly, generous portions. We got banana pudding to go and it lasted about 10 minutes in the car before we ate it all. We got a huge smile from the lady who I think is the owner when we walked in. When I was paying, I showed her a photo on my phone of our visit to Bully's 8 years earlier. The whole staff wanted to see it and were genuinely appreciative. If you love soul food, make the trip to Jackson and visit what is in my opinion the best around.
We were traveling home to Florida and googled the best place for robs in Jackson Mississippi. Bully’s did not disappoint!!!
The food was okay. The sweet potatoes were good, the pork chop was very tender literally fell apart with my plastic fork the Mac n cheese was okay not the best I ever had. I loved the sweet tea! The service was great southern service. The ambiance was just like someone’s home. Wasn’t bad it was nice to support a local business while passing through.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever had proper soul food, but this place is amazing. I can taste the love in every bite. Out of the 4 things on my plate, I have the smallest issue with one. I thought the cornbread was a little dry, but I am definitely not an expert on corn bread. I also had the baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and grilled corn. All three were absolutely perfect. The price is also amazing for the quality. I wish this place was by my home. The group o was with also enjoyed every last bite.
