We chose this location for a 6 day stay in the middle of July, and it turned out to be a good home base for our tourist activities. Room: It was a standard size, with two queen beds. The mattresses were fine with the AC working well, so our nights were very comfortable even during an extended heat wave. There is a microwave and small fridge, in case you want to reheat leftovers. The bathroom has a separate door, with the sink outside of it. The shower is newly remodeled, with large sliding glass doors and shampoo/conditioner/liquid soap dispensers with quality product in the shower itself. The showerhead is newer, with a rainfall style flow. The towels are very thin, and the lack of places to hang it to dry makes it difficult if there is more than one person in the room. Small tv in room, but has a lot of channels and Max and Showtime on demand is available. Breakfast: Like all Fairfields, offers free breakfast, including some hot items. It is definitely better during the weekend, when more people are staying. Average during the week, with premade sandwiches. During the weekend, they have scrambled eggs and sausage patties and bacon. Individually wrapped bagels, muffins. Good selection of juices (including grape juice cocktail). 3 different kinds of cereal. Make your own waffles. Chobani greek yogurt. Workout Room: Open 24 hours. Has two treadmills and one elipical. Has brita water dispenser to fill up your water containers...so we didn't have to buy bottled water on this trip. You can also ask for bottled water from the front desk. Self-service laundry: This is really nice to have. One washing machine and one dryer, and you can pay by credit card. $2.50 each, wash cycle about 30 minutes, dry cycle 45 minutes. close to main dining room. Parking is free and readily available. One really negative thing: it is located on Highway 44, and cars are flying 55+ on the 2 lane road. I-495 is right there , but to get there, one has to do a left turn onto 44 with a somewhat blind view, and it's a bit scary to navigate.
Good location near the 495 ramp and good amount of food options around. Friends had room that smelled like smoke. Our confirmation emails came for different addresses/locations so that caused some confusion for people in the wedding block that had called to book. Just a pretty average place for $150/night so I'd explore other options in this area
First impression: 1. Difficult to see parking lot entrance at night 2 People outside main door entrance smoking pot. 3. Lobby is nice 4. You are hit with the is nasty musty smell. If you can get beyond that the place does look clean but someone need to look into that smell. Rooms looked good and beds were comfortable. However that smell is everywhere making question why are you are still here and where's that smell coming from?
We're only here because Hilton garden inn was higher priced. In retrospect, I should've gone there regardless of price. The Fairfield is and feels like 2 star joint. The climate control is but only a glorified fan. The chair is not comfortable nor ergonomic. The bed is uncomfortable, the bathroom has water stains on the floor. I cannot wait to check out of this hell hole. Save your money and sleep in your car instead. The chair is from the Brady bunch in terms of style. I've included pictures of the lowlights of my stay.
Amenities include 'high speed internet ', after extremely slow speeds I opted for the $4.95 'Enhanced High Speed Internet ' on my next stay, and saw no difference. I thought it didn 't work. This time I confirmed with the front desk that I had the Enhanced internet and offered to pay at the counter to make sure it went through. I am still getting 1-6 Mbps internet speeds. I have 6 more weeks of reservations, possibly more after that. I will be looking for a different hotel to stay at with internet from this century.
