There are a lot of toney bakeries in a lot of hipster towns in Montana, like the Black Cat in Missoula or Park Avenue in Helena. (Okay, Grannies in Bozeman is great But they do not measure up to this little gem in this godforsaken town in the in-between part of Montana. The cinnamon roll was fresh, sweet, gooey and amazing. The bearclaw was no less good. And how do you measure service in a counter service shop? I will tell you. While we were in there, a young woman was returning a pastry (something I had never seen) because it was mushed It was likely she had been the one that mushed it. But the sweet lady behind the counter never blinked and let her make an exchange.
