1901 Chop Haus - Traer

Wow, just had chicken dinners. I am 78 and this was the BEST ever restaurant chicken dinner. Photo is whats left . Mash potatoes and corn , this is Iowa. Reasonable, cold beers, great location and interior. Don't screw up and miss it!

I always try to stop here when traveling in the area. A terrific chop house ambiance worthy of any big city, but still small town friendly and inviting. Better beer selection than most restaurants in towns this size, and everything I 've ever had on the menu is very good. An excellent and surprising stop that I highly recommend.

Their grilled pork tenderloin sandwich with hand-made potato chips is by far the best I've discovered in Iowa! Get to Traer and get you some!!!

Great place. A definite lovely looker. Great staff! Specials were bbq pork and fish. We had one of each. Huge portions. Cheap prices. Fish was To Die For!!!! Our water stayed full and our bellies also left full. Menu was nice and different things to choose from. We can't wait to return! What a great place to find. Locals need to stop here!!

This is a great local spot. Probably the best fried cheese curds I've found (seriously, and I've lived in North Carolina and Atlanta), and I would highly recommend the fried chicken, grilled pork chop, and Ruben sandwich. Very good burgers too.
