The bad: we had severe plumbing issues in our room and they had to move our room as a result. There were signs of water damage and the shower leaked profusely on day one. Both family rooms we stayed in were dated and needed better maintenance. After switching rooms, the hotel had another plumbing issue brown water not only in our new room but our friends ' rooms, too. Separately, there was an issue with loud, drunk people outside our room on night one. The hotel has a bar and these people were over served. The night manager was nowhere to be seen, despite the significant noise in the front lobby and outside area. After about an hour, I had to get out of bed and ask the other guests to quiet down, which they did. As we had such a terrific stay in Ireland, we would 've just chalked these experiences up to bad luck except that the front office staff on the following day s) were so unhelpful, defensive, accusatory when we mentioned these issues to them. Kathy at the front desk was especially unkind unwilling to listen. We spoke to a manager Heather) who said she would check security tape and get back to us. After 2 days now 3 weeks later), we had no follow up not even an apology or a check in. On a good note, everyone else we spoke with at this hotel was kind helpful, especially Helen the food service team. Ireland has many wonderful places to stay I suggest choosing somewhere else.
Overall a nice experience here and the hotel is affordable. It was a quiet hotel in a nice area. There is a lovely garden to roam around. It has a restaurant and bar on the property, and when we were there, there was live music. The music could not be heard from the rooms so that’s a plus. We did not do dinner here, however, breakfast was delicious and included in the price of the room.
A very nice cosy atmosphere in the Meadowlands Hotel, friendly staff and it's located near the town centre
