La Toscana - Trujillo

We had a fantastic meal in La Toscana on the other night. Well worth the ride to this place. Fantastic staff and food were above the top. Small intimate environment with only 4 tables available. So happy we went.

This place is a jewel. Probably the best Italian restaurant in Peru. 100% authentic recipes with organically grown ingredients and the perfect choice of Italian wines to go with their dishes. Metically run by a Peruvian family with roots in Argentina, Italy...East. The location of the restaurant is located in its former farmhouse therefore has a brilliant feeling for it. Frankly, not even some of the top rated Italian restaurants in Lima come close to this place. If you just don't give La Toscana the miss in Trujillo. A blessing for Italian food lovers!!!

Unbelievable! I was in Italy several times and this is better than any meal I had in Italy. Authentic and genuine ingredients. I was in trujillo for 1 month and had delivery six times. The delivery was always on time and the foods were hot and fresh every time. The Pannacotta is an attempt!!!!!! Lilli and her crew always feel like family. When I arrived at Trujillo this time, my first call for dinner was toscana. I was very disappointed to hear that the restaurant was closed for dune, but they had only delivery. Usually the delivery is never the same quality as dinning in person, but this was not the case with toscana. Everything was the same quality. The only thing missing was the beautiful surroundings of the house / restaurant and the stunning garden.

When you find a perfect little restaurant which is totally exclusive gourmet dining. Then why go on TripAdvisor and risk losing that exclusiveness? Because excellence deserves recognition. This is a restaurant which solely exists purely for the passion of food and less about profit. Sheila... the owner explained she used to own a large and busy restaurant, now she needed to downsize so she could focus on a more refined dining experience. Shelia personally introduced the dishes in fine detail, The ingredients imported from Europe uniquely for the restaurant. who can boast they have their own supply of real truffles? Shelia will also modify the dish to your personal requirements. THE FOOD; as you can imagine was more than perfect. PRICE; more midrange prices aprox 50-60 sol per dish visa . SERVICE; outstanding the waitress and the owner spoke perfect English. Waiting time was a standard 10 minutes and both our plates serived at the same time with the waitress constantly topping up glasses, without overcrowding the table. RESTAURANT; very clean and homely, exactly like the images on the website. NEGATIVES; none. i just wish they were open in the daytime and the swimming pool was open. thank you so much for a lovely evening. Steff and Dianna

We have now been to La Toscana 4 times and every time I feel like I have died and gone to heaven! You can’t find this good of Italian food anywhere outside of Italy. I have been to Italy and this food is the same...if not better! The atmosphere is romantic, calm, tranquil, and relaxing. The sangria is amazing! And I have never had better service than this! It is a place the is relaxed and welcoming. We will be going back again and again and again! Clean, delicious, savory, beautiful place to eat and enjoy your evening!
